Why would the governments of sovereign nations of Africa be serving the interest of the government of other nation(s) in Europe and America at the expense of the welfare of their nations and

citizens? What could have been the benefits? Perhaps its for selfish financial gain, social influence, international and political profit or some other self enriching purposes. Some kinds of political threats or some agelong secret contracts might exist that the general public are unaware of. Whatever the motive could be, it is anti-democratic.The governing individuals were elected to represent the interest of the majority. They were voted to govern based on trust and confidence both in their personalities and manifestoes.
What is then wrong with Democracy in Africa?

Are the voters making right choices? Could it be that their votes do not count? Is it probably due to the factor of dua personalities on the part of the politicians in which, one was predominantly exhibited prior to being elected and the other is the reality when they have been empowered to represent.
The dignity of Democracy and the efficacy of governance in Africa depend largely on the abilty to manage and correct the two factors mentioned above. The voters and the winners from the elections.

The Voters
Who is a voter? Someone who has the legal rights to vote or that votes in an election is a voter. The people that determine who is elected into political offices such as presidents, senators, reps in the house of assembly, governos, local authorities, councelors etc, are the voters. They are the citizens and legal residentes in the constituencies who are by law qualified to vote in an election. The votes are the powers that enthrone political leaders to govern a nation, state or local divisions and to represent regions and constituencies at both the upper and lower house of assemblies. Voters are the determinants of elections and the fundamental pilars for democracy.
Rights and privileges of voters

Voters are the kings and not otherwise, such as customers are the kings in any business enterprise. Policies and strategies must be formulated to capture the interest of voters such as it is done in business for customers if the business must be a going-concern. Until voters are treated with extreem regards not just prior to elections but thereafter, it can not be said that there is democracy in Africa. In actual fact, until democracy is matured in Africa, there must be a clause in the electoral processes where power is given to voters to impeach corrupt and irresponsible reps in senate and the lower house. There should be a conscious check to any form of irresponsibilties in all serving politicians.

The Don´ts of Voters
The voter loses his rights and privileges literally when he sells his conscience and sometimes his free will in exchange for money to politicians prior to elections. In some cases voter´s cards, the right to vote, are collected from voters after the token is being given. This action consequently reduces the votes of an opposing political party or candidate who perhaps might be the people´s choice. In other cases, followers and voters who could vote for an opposing party are paid, then unduely and forcefully interfering with their free will. The paid voter is threatened and monitored till he cast his vote as agreed. This literally kills democracy as corrupt politicians are beinn elected. High degree of poverty is fundamentally responsible for this scenarios. Corrupt politicians are taking advantage of the voters economic situation. Only if voters can say no to the schemes of the corrupt politicians would they be able to save democracy and the future of unborn generations in Africa.

The elected politicians.
Even if corrupt politicians manipulate voters with money to claim victory, there must be holistic checks and control in democracy to protect voters rights. Voters should be able to impeach senators and reps at community levels if found irresponsible. The powers of voters should not be limited to elections rather, their powers must be sustained. Africa needs selfless and responsible leaders to lead the continent out of the current predicament.
